I would also like to add to my earlier post that to my personal knowledge MR Killen has never belonged to any Klan at any time, and I haven't seen or found any proof what so ever to the contrary!

the three civil rights workers lost is a tragedy I admit but they were not law enforcement officials and had no business investigating any church that may have been birnt back in the 60's. If they would have minded their own business and left the matters to the law they might be alive today, who knows.

I don't condone the killings and think it is a sad thing that this happened, but I also see the side of the Mississipians at that period of time fighting for they believed to be an invasion by outsiders and they felt that they were threatened by them, especially when the FBI got into the scene.

I can't get out of my mind how the FBI, the Marshalls Office and the BATF Officers killed innocent women and children at WACO, Texas and at Ruby Ridge in Naples, Idaho.

If this was their posture in Mississippi then I can definately understand the feeling of being invaded and having their civil rights and liberties violated, and for them to fight to protect themselves.

I also learned not to believe everything I read in the newspapers because there are two sides to every coin and they sensationalize events to sell papers and create a dilema and mystery to the public because that sells!

Just to set the recoed straight Edgar Ray Killen is not a current member of Knights of the Ku Klux Klan and hasn't been a member of such organization for years.

To say that he is is slanderous and is a defamation of character.

He may have been a member in the past but that was another time and another Era and those old Klans no longer exists today, they have disbanded.

Edgar was not convicted of murder, but for a crime that he wasnt even on trial for "manslaughter."

This is like going into court for a speeding ticket and the jury convicts you of attempted homicide with a vehicle.

We do not condone violence in the Klans and are not a hate group.

The Klans have reformed because society has evolved into a different culture in time.

This trial was an act of revenge and it was unconstitutional to hand down a verdict of manslaughter instead of a murder charge which would have been argued in court differently from the start of the trial.

I invite you to research the Klans in America today and see for yourself what we are about. Even if you don't agree with Christianity you can educate yourself on this matter.

The real tragedy of this case is that it took 40 years to bring it to trial when they used the same evidence now that they could have used then.

They could not convict Reverand Killin of MURDER because he did not commit murder.

I have studied this case carefully and I am an ex law enforcement officer on various levels and I can testify that the egg is on the state's face not MR. Killen and the state of Mississippi is becoming known throughout the U.S as aJoke, Hillbilly kangaroo judicial system.

If MR. Killen is to be tried and convicted of something he done then it should be done by the letter of the law not public opinion or driven by hate and a vengeful seeking mob that wants to circumvent the U.S. Constitution that makes this the greatest Country in the world.

Remember if this is let to stand as it is this can happen to anyone even the Minorities and I promise that a day will come that this will indeed happen.

Judge Gordon is to be commended for his decision to follow the law not his feelings as we all should do!
