I read about the killings recently in rural Clearlake California. Here is what happened in as few words as possible.

• At 4AM Renato Hughes Jr. and his childhood friends Rashad Williams, 21, and Christian Foster, 22 barged into the home of Shannon Edmonds.
• They beat his stepson  Dale Lafferty. He has suffered brain damage as a result of the beating and can no longer feed himself.
• Shannon opened fire on the three men, killing Rashad Williams and Christian Foster. Renato Hughes Jr. escaped injury.
• Shannon said: "Race has nothing to do with it other than this was a gang of black people who thought they were going to beat up this white family."
• California's Provocative Act allows people who's activities lead to a shooting to be charged. With this in mind Renato Hughes Jr. was charged with the murders of Rashad Williams and Christian Foster.

They are already calling them The Clearlake Three. Can you believe it? They even have some stupid ribbons they are passing out like anyone needs to remember robbers and attempted murderers.

Wait a second, this is the black community where people who commit crimes are held in high esteem. Perhaps Renato Hughes Jr. should get a record deal? Yeah. Thats it.

The Clearlake 3. That cracks me up.

Mama Nem in this case, Renato's mother Judy Hughes said that she doesn't believe that they were there to rob them. They showed up simply to buy marijuana. She then said that her son is getting a "legal lynching" and that he is not responsible for the deaths of his friends.

Let me fire some bullets at this.

• Rashad Williams and Christian Foster are dead. Dale Lafferty has brain damage for life a fate that could easily be worse than death if its as bad as it sounds.
• It is unfortunate that Shannon did not kill all three of them.
• His mother is in denial for looking at her son for anything else than what he is. A criminal that narrowly escaped a death he probably deserved if he had a part in the bat-beating of Dale Lafferty.

Black people can avoid the racist legal system in California by understanding the following:

• Renato Hughes Jr. Rashad Williams and Christian Foster are not honor students with bright futures ahead of them. Nor were the Jena Six but that is another story.
• Breaking into someone house is illegal.
• Even if you were buying marijuana, its illegal too.
• Beating someone senseless with a baseball bat is illegal. That's called attempted murder.
• If you break into the home of someone armed, you will probably get shot.
• If you get shot you may die.
• If you are Renato Hughes Jr. and you don't want to get charged with the murders of your friends, you probably shouldn't break into the home of someone armed at 4AM,  beat someone senseless with a baseball bat and listen to your friends get shot dead. As a matter of fact, you should have stayed home.

This is an open and shut case. Luckily Shannon will not be prosecuted. It is unfortunate Renato Hughes Jr. was not also killed as its going to cost taxpayers a lot of money in fending off the melee to have him freed because "he is such a nice young man".

Let me help Judy Hughes with this foolishness she is fomenting with this "legal lynching" term she hath brought forth. Here is what she should have said:

"If my son wants to come to your house, beat your family and rob you, just let him and his friends rob you. Don't be shooting my baby! Don't be prosecuting my baby! He didn't do it. Its racism."

Whew. I feel better already don't you?
